Matt Swanner’s professional background spans 24 years of experience in photography, graphic, web, and multimedia design, advertising, search engine optimization and social media marketing for a wide array of businesses, large and small.
Matt’s foray into the world of marketing began in 1998 as a web design hobbyist.
The internet was a new and vibrant medium, and his lifelong love of traditional art and music, combined with a passion for creative problem solving inspired him to master HTML/CSS through self-study. This led Matt from print shops to publishing, where he sharpened his creative skillset as the production manager of a 128-page glossy South Florida lifestyle publication.
Matt went on to freelance for multiple Treasure Coast businesses, before relocating to Research Triangle Park, North Carolina – where he continued freelancing, co-founded a boutique wedding and portrait photography studio, and helped spearhead the internet marketing efforts of NC’s fifth largest creative firm – Rivers Agency.
His journey has continued over the years, allowing him to evolve with one of the most vibrant, exciting fields in computer technology – honing his skills as an illustrator, digital video editor, and online marketing consultant. His role at Guru Creative allows him to flex his creative muscle across multiple disciplines. From creating print collateral to designing, programming, and actively marketing a multitude of web properties – Matt’s passion for all things marketing and his personable, straight-forward consulting methods have made him an undeniable asset to a multitude of businesses – large and small.
